The park had slowly quietened. The children were satisfi ed with sweat. In about one hour, after a stroll, they left for home as the others did in twos and threes. Without Mei’s awareness, it was already past ten-thirty.
On the way back, in the bus, with the little son falling asleep in her arms and the elder son feeling sleepy beside her, the image of that rainy day followed by the fi ght, was oddly creeping into her mind. It still hurt.
