Obscurely, she felt something moving from the light that slowly woke her with a shudder into consciousness. The door opened and closed without her seeing it. A shadow sneaked in. In fear of the solid weight climbing over her, she suddenly opened her eyes. Yet there was nothing but the sheer darkness she could see and the immensity she couldn’t grasp. As the invisible thing kept weighing upon her, closer and closer, she blinked, smelled the foul alcohol as well as the sour regurgitation, and gradually came to hear a heart beating fast with high-strung breathing. She could even feel the edgy silence with a strange warmth. She half rose, her hands fl ickered in a vain attempt to hold that weighty thing. Scared as she’d become and panicked, she ventured to ask, “Who... Who is it?”
